CBD 101
WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS AND HOW DO THEY HELP?
Cannabinoids are a class of naturally occurring chemical compounds found within the hemp plant. Cannabidiol or CBD is one of at least 113 known cannabinoids and the most dominant hemp derived cannabinoid. CBD works in conjunction with the other cannabinoids to trigger receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system which ultimately produces a physiological response.
CBD is a non-psychoactive molecule and does not produce a euphoric high. In fact, out of the known cannabinoids, THC is the only compound that creates such an effect. It’s important to realize that hemp does produce a minute amount of THC, but since the concentration is so incredibly small it doesn’t produce any euphoric response. As research continues, we learn more about the intricacies of how these compounds work together and interact within the human body to produce favorable outcomes.
